Answer:
Shelton Smith Home

History:
The Shelton Smith Home is currently located at 811 Caroline Street. The land was bought in 1855 by John E. Shelton. He was a great craftsman, and built many homes in Montgomery before 1860. He built the main portion of  this home for his friend, Thomas W. Smith. Thomas was the leading cigar manufacturer in Montgomery.
Smith's Future Generations owned and modified it, but in 1922, Smith's Granddaughter added Dormers to the home.
In 1924, Smith's Granddaughter sold the home to the Thomas A. Gay Family. They owned the home from 1924-1970. Then K.M Whisenant owned the home from 1970-2000. Then the current owners to this present day: Richard and Mary Eckhart bought the home in Oct 2000. They restored the home, including the slave quarters.
